MOTHERING YOURSELF
So, instead of calling it “self-care” I’m going to challenge you to think of it in new terms. I started to really be able to look after myself when I thought about “"MOTHERING MYSELF”. I think of how I would care for my own children or how my mother would care for me.
Here are some really easy things you can do to “mother yourself”:
Make chores more enjoyable. Make it music and meditation time.
Keep an eye on your energy. Who or what draws energy from you? What creates negative energy?
Plan your day with a good rhythm. Welcome your day with prayer.
Make routine tasks enjoyable and slow down. Limit the list. You are human, not a robot.
Give yourself permission to be the child in you. Have fun with your life. Draw, dance, and watch cartoons.
Put your self to bed. Incorporate wind down rituals.
Create a special space and dedicate it to yourself.
